Challenges and Empowerment of the Youth
Young people, who face many challenges, must be supported by the church through activities and frameworks such as youth days. To this end, the Youth Convention from August 7 to 10, 2025, in the seaside resort of Kribi only reinforced this concept. The general theme chosen for these meetings was: "Church and Empowerment, a Guarantee of Participatory Development," based on the annual theme: "It's Time to Do Good."
For three days, more than 200 young people from the 12 districts that make up the working area of Apostle Ebanga Edoa Félicien gathered at the host community of Kribi-ville for spiritual, socio-cultural, and recreational activities. The main themes of these meetings included raising awareness among young people about the dangers and harms of drug and narcotics use, electrophoresis testing for all age groups present, spiritual development, an evangelistic and outreach campaign, and recreational activities. The opening and closing divine services were officiated by Apostle Ebanga Edoa Felicien.
Divine Services and Spiritual Focus
The biblical text that served as the guiding thread during the opening divine service is an excerpt from Genesis 39:9: "There is no one greater than I in this house, and he has kept nothing back from me, except you, because you are his wife. How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?" The biblical text excerpt for the closing divine service is taken from Revelation 19:7: "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready." Romans 15:14: "But I myself am persuaded of you, my brothers, that you are full of good things, filled with all knowledge, and able to admonish one another." punctuated the spiritual focus of this meeting.
The Teachings
The spiritual insight from Romans 15:14, "But I am persuaded, my brethren, that you are full of good things, filled with all knowledge, and able to admonish one another," opened the series of presentations by various experts. The theme of the dangers and harms of drug and narcotics use by young people was presented by the emissary and expert of the National Committee for the Fight against Drugs (CNLD) of the Ministry of Public Health, namely psychologist/addiction specialist Ms. Eugenie Batouan. She explained the consequences of this unhealthy consumption on the health of young people and its impact on the personal, family, social, and economic levels.
Medical Prevention
Following a recommendation from the Cameroonian Ministry of Health, a free electrophoresis test was offered to determine blood type and other important medical parameters. These confidential tests were performed by our nurse, Tina Ateba Marthe, a state-registered nurse (IDEP) with the Ministry of Health.
Testimony Campaign and Invitations
The young people participating in the testimony campaign formed three groups of 30 to share the message of love and the return of Jesus Christ, also presenting them with an invitation to participate in activities throughout the day.
Leisure activities
Visits to the vast expanses of water and photo opportunities on the beach were part of this program.
Public Relations
Journalists from the national channel of Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) interviewed, in turn, Apostle Ebanga Edoa Félicien, who provided general supervision for these youth days, District Evangelist Ateba Léandre, who provided national coordination, and a young participant from the Mangouma Lolodorf community.
Fellowship and family photos
Gastronomy, through fraternal communion through varied and rich dishes, was a source of strength for the rest of the activities. The family photos at the end of the divine service between the apostle and all the participants in their respective capacities definitively turned the page on these 2025 Youth Days in Kribi.
In conclusion, the 2025 Youth Days in the seaside resort of Kribi saw a remarkable participation of young people, guests, and ministers, and rich teachings. The date is set for Douala in August 2028.
